Smorkern-class Heavy lifter

As corporate mining operations became more elaborate, dropships became inadequate for hauling large industrial equipment such as vehicles, drilling platforms, and prefabricated buildings, it became necessary to develop a transport ship with good surface capability. Golbersson Starforge's solution was largely inspired by the Gasgarra-class shuttle, and in essence is a double-length shuttle.

The Smorkern-class heavy lifter adapts the articulating engine pods for even greater adaptability, allowing engines to adjust to accelerate the craft no matter the center of mass, and is stable and maneuverable both in atmosphere and space.

External cargo mounts can fit standard cargo containers, as well as well as a variety of vehicles, buildings, and even some spacecraft. In addition to the exterior cargo mounts, the Smorkern has an interior cargo hold with hatches on the bow and stern.

Armored variants with weapon hardpoints are frequently used by system or private military units since they can often relocate an entire operation; personnel, vehicles, and equipment, in a single trip.
