Taurus-class Battleship

As skirmishes between the SCO and local factions came to employ stealth attacks, minefields, and castle stations, the SCO navy responded with the Astrojinx's Taurus, an effective warship with the diversity to handle a variety of scenarios with minimal support.

The Taurus-class destroyer has an externally-mounted advanced sensor suite capable of detecting stealth craft, mines, and hostile ship system status, all while providing tracking and targeting data. This makes this ship one of the most effective craft against ambushes and fighter swarms.

Its bow ramhead, made from from reinforced tecton mesh, layered shield generators, and kogmorite armor, can be used to clear mines with negligible damage, and deliver devastating damage to other craft or station.

In addition to the batteries of plasma cannons covering nearly every surface of the ship, the Taurus also features and under-slung mega-beam emitter, a weapon design only available on the largest Astrojinx ships, which is capable of overriding even larger ship's shields, and dismantling castle stations with ease.

The decks of the Taurus mostly run the length of the body. However, the unconventional frame leads to a number of unusual decks. The bow of the Taurus has a number of small decks used for auxiliary science and sensor purposed while not in combat. however, because of the frequent damage the bow ram and sensor head is subject too during sustained combat, these decks are often evacuated. The Taurus also has two slanted wings that house crew quarters and accommodations, however because these decks are offset from each other, must be accessed by inclinators. Command decks are buried near the center of mass under the main sensor array. Engineering facilities are spread across several aft sections.
