Vespa-class Fighter

The original manufacturer of the Vespa-class fighter was a halfling-run salvage company called Jesper Retrieval Services. Most of the parts were salvaged from other craft, but the overall design was so effective that Klepto Acquisitions were on the receiving end of a bidding war between all three major ship manufacturing corporations for the rights.

Jesper secretly signed the rights over to all three companies and simultaneously released the full blueprints for free on the Net.

During the patent war that ensued, Jesper was able to quietly close his business and open a new salvage company called Klepto's Acquisitions.

The Vespa is now the most widely-used fighter craft. It features dual plasma cannons and a ventral missile launcher. Its unique unique thrust-vectoring engines, coupled with thrusters make it one the most maneuverable spacecraft on the market, and its wing fins and antenna fold downward for storage and surface landing.
